Claire House, 007 & an Aston Martin

Despite the very cold and wet Sunday morning of 5th March, there was plenty to smile and be “Jolly” about!

Jonathan is a young man, age 21, who has been supported by Claire House Children’s Hospice since being diagnosed some years ago with a very rare progressive and degenerative brain disorder. Jonathan has a number of complex needs that he is appropriately and blissfully unaware of, but none of those ever dampen his enthusiasm for getting out and about and enjoying life and new experiences. He has had a fascination with cars since he was very young, particularly those of his hero, James Bond.

So a ‘Bond’ morning was organised by Wirral Life Magazine, Claire House and a posse of big-hearted prestige car owners, who travelled from far and wide, providing not only a superb collection of Aston Martins, but a Lotus Esprit, a Ford Mustang and a Bentley for Jonathan to get in and go for a blast.

Add to that the requisite tuxedo’s, vodka martini’s (shaken, not spilt!) and a personalised number plate on the DB9 with Jonathan’s nickname on it, his smile was unforgettable!

Special thanks to The Red Fox, Oak Bistro, Unit 20 and the members of Cars & Coffee Liverpool.
