Full steam ahead for railway themed West Kirby cafe

A brand new exciting space is opening today at Kirby Park Cafe in West Kirby. The refurbished basement at the cafe will not only provide extra dining space but will also house vintage collectables for sale.

The family run business in Sandy Lane opened its doors in January 2017 and is going from strength to strength.

Owner Katherine Davies said: “We are so excited to be opening the basement up for business. It will provide extra seating space for the cafe and would be a perfect place for groups to meet up. The collectables will be displayed around the room and add to the vintage experience”

The cafe is on the site of the old ‘Kirby Park station’ shop and offers great coffee and delicious cakes along with breakfast and lunchtime specials. It’s ideally located two minutes from the Wirral Way at Sandy Lane Bridge and five minutes from the end of the Marine Lake.

The vintage items for sale will include everything from furniture to fine china and children’s games and toys to art.

The cafe has created 8 new jobs in West Kirby. It has revitalised a once redundant shop and with its bygone theme it offers a nostalgic glance back to the days of old West Kirby village.
