The NHS isn’t the only one that turns 70 this year.
Third generation, family-owned business Gordale Garden and Home Centre, based at Burton, south Wirral, is also celebrating its 70th anniversary.
And to say ‘Thank You’ to customers, it is holding a family-friendly Birthday Weekend Event on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19thAugust.
During the event customers will be offered complimentary nibbles and refreshments between 11am-3pm. There will also be various free fun activities for children, including donkey rides, face painting and a Punch & Judy magic show (Sunday only).
And because it all began back in 1948, a special celebratory saving of 19.48% is being offered on all indoor and outdoor plants for the duration of the weekend (Min purchase £20).
