Local Heroes Shine on the Global Stage

The British Traditional Wushu/Kung Fu Team performed stellar at the recently concluded 9th World Kung Fu Championship in Emei Mountains in China.

The team’s remarkable performance left spectators and competitors in awe, clinching five medals, including one Gold, two Silver, and two Bronze.

The standout achievement of the tournament was the Gold Medal secured by a local Wirral athlete, 16-year-old Jack Caldicott, showcasing the outstanding potential of our community’s talent. Additionally, a Bronze Medal was added to the British Wushu Team’s accolades by another Wirral athlete, Dominik Liu, 15 years old. These exceptional accomplishments underscore the dedication and commitment of these local heroes to their craft. They train at the local Chinese Martial Arts Club, China Spirit UK, in Wirral.

The team’s remarkable unity and hard work resulted in a collective fourth-place finish in the group event, reinforcing the strong bond between the British Wushu/Kung Fu Team and the Wirral community.

The British Wushu/Kung Fu Team’s triumph at the 9th World Kung Fu Championship demonstrates that success knows no boundaries when pursuing one’s passion and that the Wirral community can produce world-class athletes capable of competing at the highest level.

We extend our heartiest congratulations to all members of the British Wushu Team and, in particular, our local heroes from Wirral.
