Crank up those smiles folks as the Wirral has been named the 5th happiest place to live in the UK!
We beat Harrogate, Epsom in Surrey and Royal Tunbridge Wells in Kent which all made it into the top 10 of the poll, carried out by Rightmove last year and updated by House Network for 2018.
The survey asked more then 17,000 people how happy they felt with aspects of where they lived and took into account community spirit, feeling safe, the friendliness of locals, the amenities and local services available as well as earning potential.
Wirral was described as boasting ‘an amazing coastline and beautiful countryside, offering 50 miles of fantastic rural walking routes, cycling routes and beaches.’
The City of York took the top spot ahead of Helmsley in Yorkshire, Leigh-on-Sea in Essex and Royal Lemington Spa in Warwickshire.
