The Martin Gallier Project team are set to deliver Wirral’s First Suicide Prevention Conference
The Wirral based suicide prevention, intervention and postvention charity, The Martin Gallier Project (MGP) have organised the regions first, dedicated suicide prevention conference.
The event, which takes place on Friday 25th March between 9am and 1pm has been designed to examine the vital contributions made by both statutory and third-sector organisations, to support the mental health and well-being of those in suicidal crisis across the North West.
MGP founder and CEO Jessica Gallier, will be joined by a host of expert speakers from a cross section of third sector, healthcare and education organisations, all of whom play an essential role in supporting individuals before, during or after a suicide crisis.
As well as covering a number of highly topical issues on the day including the importance of self-care, bereavement support, workplace wellbeing, the links between domestic abuse and suicide, the importance of timely and non-clinical interventions, and the vital role of the community, the event is designed to encourage networking with senior representatives from across the sector.
Speaking about the ethos behind the event, Jessica Gallier commented: “We have created this event to encourage collaboration across the sector. It will be an opportunity for experts to discuss common challenges and themes, expand their awareness of what’s available in terms of suicide prevention and ultimately share solutions that can really make a difference to individuals in crisis.”
