Andrew Collinge Training is inviting young people interested in a career in hairdressing to attend Apprentice Open Evenings.
They take place later this month and in March and April.
The company has long been at the forefront of hairdressing training, boasting two purpose built training salons in Liverpool and Birkenhead where the Open Evenings will take place.
A recent Ofsted review graded the personal development, behaviour and welfare of Andrew Collinge Training apprentices as Outstanding with an overall rating of Good.
Dillan Wockenforth successfully completed his Advanced Apprenticeship in 2017 and and now working at the Andrew Collinge Graduates salon in Liverpool. Dillan says: “Training at Andrew Collinge is not just development in hairdressing, it also provides skills for life. It may be hard work, but it’s also exciting and fun.”
Lucy Ansboro also achieved her Advanced Apprenticeship and now works full-time in Swankey Malone Downtown on Jamaica Street in Liverpool. “I always wanted to do hairdressing,” she explains, “and Andrew Collinge Training really helped kick start where I was going. I learnt all my skills and now have a great job which I really enjoy.”
The Apprentice Open Evenings are aimed at Year 11 school pupils enrolling in the Andrew Collinge Diploma Apprenticeship Programme.
Interested young people can meet members of the Apprenticeship Training Team, current apprentices and newly qualified hairdressers so they can find out everything they need to know about why hairdressing can be an exciting career with many different paths to take.
Andrew Collinge says: “Hairdressing skills can be a passport to a really creative, sociable and rewarding career. Many of those who have trained with us have gone on to do great things within the hairdressing world. I was trained by my father, Peter Collinge, and many of our tutors within our training schools have progressed through the company as apprentices once themselves. I believe it’s this consistency and the passing on of knowledge and best practice that makes us a source of training that really can be trusted.
“We try to make the Open Evenings fun as well as informative. Aspiring hairdressers can come along for a chance for a bit of hands on, practical activity!”
The Open Evenings take place in the Andrew Collinge Liverpool salon on Wednesday 28 February, Thursday 22 March and Tuesday 17 April; and at the Birkenhead salon on Tuesday 27 February, Wednesday 21 March, and Monday 16 April.
Parents are more than welcome to attend.
