The Heswall Society honoured the memory of Graham Hurton, who was treasurer from 2001-2015, by planting a tulip tree in the grounds of Heswall Hall.
Mr Hurton was also chairman of the Heswall Hall Trust at the time ownership transferred from the Council to the Trust. The ceremony was attended by Mr Hurton’s son, Martyn, and his family, other family members and life-long friend Ann Dutton, in addition to current and past committee members of the Heswall Society, and representative of Heswall Hall Trust and staff.
“My dad would think that this is far too much fuss,” said Martyn. “But I’m very glad it’s happening.”
